Since the beginning of these articles, I have been sharing some of my views, thoughts and things that I have discovered while researching the paranormal. I have been working toward drawing parallels between paranormal study and mainstream science. I have been attempting to get the paranormal community all on the same page. For this I have gotten heat from some for drawing correlations between astrophysics and the paranormal, but I never have seen the harm in thinking outside the box.

In this month’s article I am going to lay out some theories. I am not claiming that these are correct, but to me they make perfect sense from a logical standpoint.

A few months ago I was contacted by a doctor who was doing a research project with electronic voice phenomenon (EVP). This doctor used to work on the manned space flight program for NASA; she had worked at the South Pole doing research for a satellite communications company. She is currently doing some individual studies in the area of EVP. One day as we were discussing EVP causation theories via telephone, she told me that she believed EVP was caused by cosmic rays. Well, little bells went off in my head warning me that this lady might be a little touched. I basically said as much and she then informed me that studies done years ago proved that cosmic rays could alter computer code at a binary level, by changing the memory cells. This would affect not only computers but also any type of electronics that use chip technology. She then went on to say that she thought EVP was introduced into electronics in this manner.

Well, this all got me to thinking and researching ... What If ... ?

Now, I have advanced, before, the theory that there must be some type of random energy transference similar to a lightning strike. I don’t believe that a place is "haunted" just because a death occurred there. I believe that the phenomenon that paranormal community seeks is much more sporadic and elusive in nature. I think that conditions can be favorable for this in specific locations, but I also believe it can happen anywhere at anytime. Maybe something about the energy of the human system serves as some type of catalyst.
First in order to ponder and appreciate these random thoughts of mine it is going to have to make some broad leaps of faith and with these leaps make some assumptions.

First assume for a moment that:

1. The human consciousness survives the death of our biological shells.

2. The string theory, M theory and other theories of the multi-dimensional universe are in fact not theories, but law.

3. Through a product of these theories, known as gravity leaks, we have the capability of spontaneous inter-dimensional contact.

4. Some type of as yet unrecognized energy is interacting with another as yet unrecognized type of energy and jumping dimensions through these “leaks”.

Now, let me set this up with a brief dissertation on known scientific law. All objects have positive and negative charges, and all objects seek to be neutrally charged. By this I mean they seek to have the same number of both positive and negative electrons.

This is causation for things like lightning and other electrical discharges.

In the scenario above there are 4 positive protons and 6 negative electrons, they will strive to even out. Like so.

As you can see there are no arrows because the area is now neutral.

Another similar phenomenon is osmosis; it is the same principle in which liquid strives to equal out its concentration gradient:

In the same manner as electricity, think of a Coke can with condensation on the outside. The point here is that all systems known to science strive for neutrality.

Now, think about what we study. According to multi-dimensional models of the universe, our dimension is folded and intertwined with at least 7 other dimensions. Now the theory of gravity leaks say basically, due to known laws of gravity, these different dimensions will form a gravity leak in the separating barriers, known as branes. To me this is what enables inter-dimensional contact, whether it be voices, apparitions, etc. The other thing that I find highly interesting about this line of reasoning is the thought that these leaks, which are similar to little black holes, will appear and disappear randomly over time as the gravitational fields equal out and stabilize. To me this would account for the randomness of hauntings and especially data that we get or try to get in the field. Assuming that these gravity leaks are what some people refer to as "portals", it would explain why things aren't always active or why sometimes we get beau-coup data and other times no data.

But what causes these portals? Following the law of all systems striving to reach neutrality, and combining it with several widely accepted ideas of hauntings it all boils down to neutralization of energy in between dimensions. Think about it, what are some typical known haunted locations? Hospitals, battlefields, places where traumatic deaths occurred, theaters, orphanages etc. One thing that all these places have in common is that there would be terrific amounts of energy in these places for various reasons. What if all this build-up of energy causes one of these gravity leaks to form, allowing for the various reported phenomena that seems to surround alleged hauntings?

The human consciousness has been measured to oscillate at around 40 Hz (hertz), showing that human do have measurable energy in our bodies, enough energy to serve as a catalyst. But what other piece of the puzzle is missing? What is interacting with this human energy field? For this answer look skyward. But before this analysis can take place a few definitions are needed:

Cosmic rays — are atomic nuclei stripped of all their surrounding electrons, which travel through the galaxy at near the speed of light.

Dark matter — an aspect of the universe that is invisible, the only way scientists know it is there is from measurements; scientists now believe that what we perceive as dark matter could possibly be some aspect of other dimensions that are set forth by the string theory.

Neutrinos — (Kaluza-Klein particles) I have spoken of these before, they are particles that have negligible mass and no charge, basically they are very neutral and therefore can pass through anything only very occasionally colliding with some other particle and causing a reaction. These particles could theoretically pass through any dimension and any substance.

The Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis (northern and southern lights) are examples of what can happen when cosmic rays collide with particles in our atmosphere, the colors and light are caused by the collision of the particles, and the shapes are caused by the Earth’s gravity field. This type of phenomenon is not a constant but changes and waxes and wanes due to season, geomagnetic storms, solar activity, etc. The reason this activity occurs at the Earth’s magnetic poles is because this is where the greatest concentration of the Earth’s magnetic fields occur.

What if these KK particles (neutrinos) actually at some point interact with the anomalous human energy fields that change at the death of our biological shells?

This act as a byproduct would form some type of visible or audible reaction (apparitions, EVP etc). If this were indeed the case, then it would go a long way toward explaining the seemingly sporadic nature of this phenomenon.

It would also follow along with the multiple dimension theories. Finally, it would explain why EVP is not heard until playback, and would explain why apparitions are so fleeting and seen only by certain people and at certain angles.

We are bombarded with these cosmic rays at all times. Granted, to date there doesn't seem to be much of an effect on us from them, but maybe that is because we have been looking in the wrong areas for these effects. Don’t worry; I'm not one of these people you see running around wearing tinfoil hats to stop the aliens from reading my mind. Seriously though, in an effort to find plausible causation it is time to look elsewhere and expand our research into previously unknown areas.

Crazy talk? Maybe. Off the wall? A little. But, then again, without questions there would be no answers.
