World's Longest EVP? (240KB) Female Child Old Movie Theater Small town near Memphis, Tennessee High8 digital video soundtrack recording
by former team member Shelley Sullivan
This recording is perhaps the longest EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) ever recorded in the paranormal research field. It's the voice of a little girl estimated to be 6 to 8 years old which was recorded in an old movie theater in a small town in West Tennessee. This voice was NOT heard by any investigators who were present at the time of recording. There were 10 adults in the theater and NO children, as we do not allow children to be present during investigations.
This extraordinary EVP is approximately 20 seconds long and was recorded around 1 AM in the morning. It was captured on two different types of recording devices, a digital video camera and an analog audio recorder, which were located in separate areas of the theater. The recorded voice was audibly louder on the recording captured on the ground floor and exhibited different acoustic qualities from the recording captured in the balcony. This suggests that the discarnate personality was spatially closer to the video camcorder on the ground floor and farther away from the micro-cassette recorder in the balcony which simultaneously recorded the voice.
In the recording, you will hear several of our team members talking. Then the little girl begins to talk over our conversation as if she is commenting on what we are saying. We believe that she starts by saying, "They're laughing at me" or "They're looking at me" and then continues to speak for another 15 seconds. No one knows exactly what she said, and there have been many different interpretations. What do you hear? We'd like to know. Email your interpretation to us.
This EVP was recorded in September of 2004 by former team member, Shelley Sullivan, using a Sony digital video camera. Team member, Michele King, also recorded this same EVP using a Sony analog micro-cassette recorder. There have been reported sightings of this little girl in the theater for years. She has been described by witnesses as having long, curly blonde hair and wearing Victorian period clothing.
The Little Girl Speaks! (264KB) Female Child Old Movie Theater Small town near Memphis, Tennessee MiniDisc digital audio recording by Southern Phantom
Less than two weeks later during a follow-up investigation at this same theater in West Tennessee, we played a CD with children's songs which were popular during the early 1900's in hopes of attracting the attention of discarnate personalities. Again, there were NO children present during the investigation, only adults. Some of our team members were sitting in the right side of the theater balcony, some were sitting in a stairway leading to the second floor and a few were standing near the stage on the ground floor.
At 12:50 AM (almost exactly the same time as the 20 second EVP above was recorded), the team members who were in the balcony and those near the stage heard the voice of a little girl cry out loudly in the left side of the balcony where no one was sitting. We audibly heard her voice with our ears! This very clear recording of the event was captured on Southern Phantom's MiniDisc recorder.
You will hear the little girl cry out at the beginning of the recording, then Southern Phantom's comments and then the sound of his Polaroid camera as he took a photo. The little girl's voice has been repeated and amplified at the end of the recording to make it easier for you to hear it. What do you hear? We'd like to know. Email your interpretation to us.
We investigated this theater over a two year period and recorded dozens of EVPs there, many of which were definite paranormal reactions to our physical actions (such as whispered comments on the music we were playing, a greeting to a team member when he walked in, etc.). We will post more of these EVPs on our website in the future.
The ultimate goal of our research there was to discover the identity of this little girl through interactive EVP and then possibly help her to cross over. Sadly, the current management of the theater will no longer allow research to be conducted there, so we will probably never know the name or fate of the little blond girl who continues to haunt this theater.
Female "Pardon Me" (188KB) Crescent Hotel Lobby Eureka Springs, Arkansas Analog audio recording by Michele King
Team member, Michele King, paid a visit to the famous haunted Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas while on vacation. She was in the lobby of the hotel when she recorded this EVP of a woman's whispered voice. At the end, you'll hear Michele say that she felt like she was bitten or stung by something right after the EVP occurs. This hotel was featured on Sci-Fi's popular "Ghost Hunters" series and is alleged to have many discarnate persoanlities there including a nurse who can be seen pushing wheelchairs down the hallways. Perhaps she gave Michele a ghostly injection! What do you hear? We'd like to know. Email your interpretation to us.
Female "Hello"(40KB) Private Residence Memphis, Tennessee Analog audio recording by former team member Shelley Sullivan
A teenage girl told us that she often heard an unseen woman or girl saying "Hello" to her when no one else was in this house. Shelley Sullivan, one of our former team members, laid her tape recorder on the girl's bed, acknowledged the discarnate personalities who were there and then left the room and closed the door. Just minutes after she left, a female voice spoke one word. What do you hear? We'd like to know. Email your interpretation to us.
Male "Yes, We're Coming" (36KB) Private Residence Memphis, Tennessee Analog audio recording by former team member Shelley Sullivan
This whispered EVP was also recorded in the teenage girl's bedroom. The girl had asked if a suicide victim was in her room. A male's voice answered. What do you hear? We'd like to know. Email your interpretation to us.

Female Child "Choking" (20KB) Small Farm Cemetery Near Henning, Tennessee Digital audio recording by Southern Phantom
This melancholy EVP was recorded during a full lunar eclipse in a small private family farm cemetery in the middle of a winter wheat field near Henning, Tennessee. Southern Phantom had laid his digital recorder on the broken headstone of a child's grave. Although there were no children present, the sad voice of a little girl can be plainly heard. What do you hear? We'd like to know. Email your interpretation to us.
Music Box (228KB) Private Residence Memphis, Tennessee Digital audio recording by Eddie Beloate
This is actually a SSP (Spontaneous Sound Phenomena) rather than an EVP. It's the sound of a music box playing. There were no music boxes, chimes or anything similar in the room, house or yard when this recording was made. Former team member, Shelley Sullivan, also photographed a moving energy field around MMSGH team member, Eddie Beloate, when this was recorded. Those photos will be posted on our website in the future.
