Shiloh Civil War Soldiers?
Submitted by Kristy S. of Henderson, Tennessee
Digital scan of 35mm film camera photo print

Kristy wrote, "This is a picture I took at Shiloh (National Military Park) which I believe may have an apparition (or two) in it. I have attached the untouched copy as well as some others where I have circled the apparition as well as zoomed in on it. That is the only modification that was done to the photo. It is black and white, and I was actually not meaning to take a photo of a ghost. I was there during a very clear, still day with a friend who was behind me when I took the picture. It was taken with a 35mm Pentax camera so I had to wait to get the photos developed before I saw anything. The figure is also present on the negative so I don't believe it is a developing error. After I took the photo, I started walking further down the line of cannons, but a nauseating feeling suddenly hit me, and I was so uneasy that I felt like something was telling me not to go any further. When the photos were developed, I actually didn't notice the figure. I posted the picture on a MSN paranormal website and someone there pointed out that there appeared to be two figures in the photo. One soldier is standing and another looks like he is leaning against a tree. I would love for you to analyze the picture and tell me what you think."
MMSGH Comments
Although this appears to be an authentic apparition photo, we have asked Kristy to return to the same spot at Shiloh if possible and try to recreate this photo while noting objects in the background behind the cannons. We have also asked to examine the original film negative. We are waiting for a response from Kristy before reaching a final conclusion regarding this photo.
