MMSGH Case #002-06
First Investigation
1/22/06

Investigation Site
Undisclosed Apartment
Memphis, Tennessee

Site History
The occupant lives in a high rise apartment complex that was built in the early 1980’s. Previous uses of the site are unknown. The site is located approximately three blocks away from the Fontaine house and several other historic structures in Memphis. It is likely that the site was occupied by homes in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The apartment is a small efficiency with a bedroom, living/dining area, bathroom and kitchenette. The occupant has lived there for five years.

Eyewitness Reports of Paranormal Activity
The phenomena began in early 2004 and continues to the present. Coins have appeared in four different areas of the apartment and have changed values several times. The first occurrence involved a penny which was found partially covered by a medication box in a cramped space on the floor between the bed and a wicker night table. The occupant believed that the penny had been left there for luck by the person who assembled the bed and did not disturb it. Several days later, the occupant noticed that the penny had disappeared. When the occupant picked up the medication box at a later date, a quarter was seen where the penny had been. That same afternoon, the occupant looked under the medication box again and the quarter was gone and a penny was in its place. No one had entered or left the apartment during the day. Other odd disturbances have also occurred in the apartment. The occupant never turns the lights out and never leaves candles burning when leaving the apartment. On at least one occasion, the occupant returned to find the lights turned off and a candle burning on the kitchen table. A bag of clothes has also disappeared only to return three days later.

Investigation Report

The occupant was interviewed extensively upon arrival. The use of EMF meters was impractical due to electrical wiring in the apartment. Southern Phantom placed his tape recorder in the occupant's bedroom and positioned his video camcorder to monitor the bedroom. Rich also placed his audio recorder in the bedroom. An EVP Q&A session was conducted in the bedroom for approximately 20 minutes. During this time, Rich and the occupant heard a voice that seemed to come from the kitchen. Rich also noticed a shadow moving in the living room after a question was asked about two of the occupant's deceased friends. The occupant owns a vacuum cleaner that belonged to one of the friends who died in December 2005.
