Site History
The house was built in the 1980's by the original owners who confirmed that there were no deaths in the house. Recently it sat vacant for almost three months before being rented again in July, 2006. The previous renters stated that they sometimes heard doors shutting in the house.

Eyewitness Reports of Paranormal Activity
The young woman who is renting the house now reported an incredible amount of activity which occurred in the two weeks since she and her family had moved in. During the first night, her five-year-old daughter woke up terrified at the sight of a man standing at the foot of her bed although the young woman did not see anyone. Later, the bathroom door in the hallway slammed, and everyone heard knocking noises in the bathroom. During the second night, the young woman awoke to see a red, marble sized light floating in a corner of her bedroom. The bathroom door slammed as the light flew into the bathroom and disappeared. Her brother was spending the night and heard someone whispering, “psst, psst”. A fan turned off and on, and everyone heard knocking in the hallway. During the third night, the deadbolt lock on the back door which had been locked by the aunt was found to be unlocked although no one had unlocked it. During the fourth night, they heard more knocking and doors slamming. A music box played, even though no one was in the room with it, and no one had wound it up. It was also rotated 180 degrees so that it faced the opposite direction although no one moved it. During the next week, they continued to hear knocking sounds and doors slamming throughout the house. The young woman was awakened one night to the noise of a dog barking in her bedroom, but she doesn't own a dog. The young woman's aunt was watching tv one afternoon when she saw the distinct impression of “someone” sit down on the couch next to her. She then heard humming for 2 to 3 seconds. That night, lights in the bathroom turned off and on, and they all heard the sounds of doors slamming as well as knocking sounds in the kitchen. The back door was also unlocked again during the night even though they had carefully locked the deadbolt. The residents are very frightened by the activity, especially the young woman's five-year-old daughter.

Investigation Report

The investigation began with a video tour of the house during which the young woman showed our team members where paranormal events had occurred. At this time, S. P. activated the digital MiniDisc audio recorder which he wears on a belt clip to document the entire investigation.

During the video tour, Rich and Eddie conducted an EMF sweep of the house which showed a base line reading of zero and no abnormal fluctuations. The backyard and a large lot next to the house were also scanned for unusual EMF activity, but only man-made sources such as underground power cables were detected.

Returning inside, S. P. placed an analog full-size cassette audio recorder with an external microphone in the older daughter's bedroom. He also placed a trigger object (a Sacagawea gold dollar coin) and an EMF meter in the aunt's bedroom and monitored them during the investigation with his analog IR video camcorder. Coins were also positioned in the young woman's bedroom and the older daughter's bedroom. Later, S. P. used a digital audio recorder during an EVP Q&A session in the young woman's bedroom. He also took numerous digital photos inside the house during the investigation.

Eddie positioned an analog IR video camcorder in the closet in the young woman's bedroom to monitor the corner of the room where a red light had appeared previously. He also used an analog micro-cassette audio recorder in this room and in the aunt's bedroom in an attempt to record EVP.

Rich placed a an analog full-size cassette audio cassette recorder with an external microphone in the young woman's bedroom in an attempt to record EVP. He also conducted periodic EMF sweeps of the house.

Mervin assisted by asking questions and taking notes throughout the investigation.

Investigation Results

Photo
No unusual visual phenomena were observed during the investigation. No photographic evidence of psychic energy was obtained in digital photos.

Audio
Scratching or faint knocking sounds originating in the closet in the young woman's bedroom were audibly heard by all team members and were recorded on separate audio recorders. Three EVPs were also recorded in this room which is reported to be the center of activity (audio evidence posted below).

Video
No unusual visual phenomena was observed during the investigation. No video evidence of paranormal activity was obtained using IR video.

EMF
No unusual EMF (ElectroMagnetic Field) fluctuations were noted inside or outside the residence during the investigation.

Manipulation of Equipment or Objects
Eddie's digital camera battery was fully drained immediately after the investigation began although it had been fully charged beforehand. His analog IR video camcorder also turned off during an EVP Q&A session when everyone heard movement and noises in the closet where the video camcorder was positioned. At the same time, Rich observed that a shirt hanging in the closet above the video camera was moving back and forth slightly. Although S. P.'s digital MiniDisc audio recorder appeared to be functioning normally, it only recorded the last 30 minutes of the investigation. None of the three target coins in separate bedrooms were moved during the investigation.

Team Member Sensations and Impressions
All four team members heard scratching or faint knocking sounds in the closet in the young woman's bedroom during the EVP Q&A session. Rich experienced several psychic impressions in the young woman's bedroom including a woman saying, "I don't want to go”, the name "Jerry", and the sound of coins jangling in a pocket. S. P. experienced a phenomenon in the oldest daughter's bedroom which felt like "someone" was playing with his hair.

This unidentified voice was recorded in the young woman's bedroom immediately after Rich's audio recorder produced audio feedback when he switched it on. We experienced this same type of EVP phenomenon during an investigation in a barn in 2005 and have now concluded that audio feedback may serve as a sound carrier for forming EVPs. What do you hear? Investigation Conclusions
Due to inconclusive evidence obtained during this first investigation and reports of continued activity in the house, we have scheduled a followup investigation of this site during the hours of midnight to 3 AM when more phenomena has been reported.
