MMSGH Overnight Ghost Hunts & Vigils™ /
Paranormal Investigator Training Workshops

Have you ever wondered what it would be like
to spend the night in a real haunted house?
Have you ever wished you could be a ghost hunter?
Now you can ... just like these guests!

"This past weekend was, by far, the most amazing paranormal experience of our lives! We stayed in Annie's room, but had experiences THROUGHOUT the house. My husband and I both experienced empathy (sensing the emotions of another), while in the Cottage. We believe it was Adeline. We were both overwhelmed with sadness and piercing chest pains. We also heard, who we believe was Kitty, say there were 'two' spirits present. We actually HEARD her speak! In the Miller Suite parlor, Annie clearly visited causing us to begin tingling with unexplained energy while playing music for her. Across the hall, the 1849 Room did not disappoint! I felt someone tickle my shoulder while sitting on the couch, and my husband and I both heard knocking responses to questions the group posed to our spiritual visitor. In Annie's Room, where we slept, we awoke to find our comforter pulled all the way to our feet! Since I slept with the covers practically over my head, there is no doubt someone else pulled them to the end of the bed. During the night, my husband awoke to the strong smell of snuff. Leaving our audio recorder running the whole night, we caught the sound of our EMF meter making noise during one of the times we left the room. It was sitting next a picture of our son we had placed in the room. We are sure it must have been Kitty taking a look at his picture! I also witnessed the closet door in Annie's Room opening and closing slightly, throughout the night. For me, one of the most interesting moments was hearing a female call my name. The voice was clear, spoken twice, and only a few feet away from me. I was in Annie's room, while the rest of the group was across the hall. Since we are still reviewing our digital recorder, we are sure to find even more voices and occurrences! S. P., you were great! Keep doing what you are doing! We have a whole new respect for the spiritual experience you shared with us. Please tell the lovely Ms. Cox we had a wonderful time. She is such a Lady! And it takes one to know one, dahling! ;) We give this retreat a solid 10!"

Paranormal Investigator Training Workshop at Magnolia Manor

“We had such a great experience! It started with my sister, Susan, feeling as if someone bumped the couch near where she was sitting. Then when you were showing us around and we were standing in the doorway of Annie’s Room, she and I both heard a man’s voice say `Someone’s here´.  When we turned around, no one was there! After we all moved over to the 1849 Room, the real fun began! As we were playing music for the spirits, we had a very active visitor! We believe it was Kitty, the spirit of a 6 year old slave girl who lived in the cottage out back. We had three EMF meters in the room, and all but one of them lit up a lot . We also heard what we thought was the voice of a little girl speaking out loud after being asked a question. Later, after everyone went to bed, all was quiet for a while. My sister fell asleep and then the CD player / radio that we had been using to play CDs turned on by itself and started making a lot of loud static noise. We both came flying out of the bed, and the noise stopped immediately. I also felt someone (or something cold) laying on my legs during the night! I also brought a tape recorder with me and let it run through the night.  I have already found several instances where I believe a spirit spoke on the tape! Nothing was really scary in the house because the spirits living there are very friendly. It has a comfortable and friendly atmosphere!”

Paranormal Investigator Training Workshop

“I saw my first full body apparition, and that was the main reason I came! It was around 4:30 in the afternoon. We were standing in the foyer of the manor talking to one of the ghost hunters when I saw an older lady coming down the hallway toward us. I thought she was real, so I didn’t think much of it at the time. Later, I was thinking about it and asked my two friends if they had seen where she had gone. They had no idea of what I was talking about! The next memorable thing I saw was the lights coming on in the hallway, another experience that I hoped to encounter during our stay. Thanks for giving the workshop!”

Paranormal Investigator Training Workshop

“First of all I would like to thank you for the wonderful weekend at Magnolia Manor. The first thing that happened was the older lady that Teresa saw coming down the hall. Later, we all witnessed floating orbs and moving shadows in an already dark room. Then a light in the hallway came on when we started talking to the Miller sisters. The most amazing thing, though, was when someone laid down beside me in the bed. I was sleeping in the C. A. Miller Suite ALONE (not a good idea if you get scared as easily as I do). It was like someone laying down beside you and resting against your arm. Instead of trying to look at or speak to whoever was there, I jumped up, grabbed my pillow and ran into Annie’s Room to sleep with my friends. The next morning, I looked at the coin which the ghost hunters had let me use. It had been moved to the right!”

“What a wonderful weekend my aunt and I had at Magnolia Manor! We came wanting some evidence of spirit activity, and we were not disappointed! Shortly before 2:00 AM, Aunt Donna heard what she described as noisy clatter and a sound like heavy furniture being moved. About 6:00 AM, I heard what sounded like a cat’s single meow in our bedroom or near the door to the hall. Could it have been “Whitey”? I hope that more people will sign up and go on these hunts with you. It was so much fun! I came away with a new appreciation for the humanity of the discarnate spirits living there.”
Donna M. from Memphis, Tennessee
Guest at our October 2006 Overnight Ghost Hunts & Vigils™ Paranormal Investigator Training Workshop at Magnolia Manor

“First off, thanks again for last night. I seriously had the time of my life! After about 7 months of investigating with my own team, I had never actually seen an apparition in person. But my luck changed at Magnolia Manor when I saw an apparition walk in front of a doorway. I would definitely recommend this ghost hunt to anyone who is even relatively interested in the paranormal!”

Workshop Apparition Sightings!

During our first Overnight Ghost Hunts & Vigils™ Paranormal Investigator Training Workshop in March 2006, a workshop guest and several MMSGH team members witnessed the full bodied apparition of a Civil War era woman moving slowly past the Ladies Parlor downstairs. During our June 2007 workshop, a guest saw a full bodied apparition in the downstairs hallway whom she later identified from a photo as Annie Miller, the last Miller family resident of Magnolia Manor who died in 1979. Visible orbs and shadow figures have been seen in various rooms in the house. Guests have been touched by unseen hands. A phantom cat has been heard mewing in the Miller Suite upstairs. Coins have been moved and lights have been turned on and off. Don’t miss your chance to participate in this paranormal adventure of a lifetime!

Still Skeptical?

Room Selection (First Come, First Served)

C. A. Miller Master Suite (Upstairs) In December 2005, a Magnolia Manor Bed & Breakfast guest was awakened at 3 AM by humming in this room. When the guest looked in the parlor area of the suite, she saw a rocking chair moving. As she watched, an apparition of an elderly woman materialized for a few seconds in the rocking chair before fading away. MMSGH team members have heard voices in this room and have seen the door open by itself during past investigations. EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) has also been recorded in this room by team members and workshop guests. During our October 2006 workshop, one workshop guest heard a cat meow in the parlor area of this room, and there are no cats in the house!

1849 Room (Upstairs) Several years ago, a Magnolia Manor Bed & Breakgast guest was awakened by an apparition resembling Priscilla McNeil, a relative of the Miller Family who were the original owners of Magnolia Manor. A portrait thought to be Priscilla's hangs in this room. The guest fled the room and refused to even return for his luggage! Light anomalies have also been photographed in this room by MMSGH team members and workshop guest. Orbs and shadow figures were seen in this room during our March 2006 workshop. During our December 2006 workshop, MMSGH team members and workshop guests audibly heard and recorded the sound of clinking glasses in this room!

Annie's Room (Upstairs) In December 2005, a Magnolia Manor Bed & Breakfast guest reported that she was awakened in this room by someone pulling the covers on the bed. When she looked up, she saw the apparition of an elderly woman dressed in a white muslin nightgown and holding a candle. After moving to the other side of the bed, she looked back and the lady had vanished! MMSGH team members Rich and Mervin also witnessed a visible orb as it flew through a wall in this room during the October 2005 Magnolia Manor Ghost Tours. In 2006 during the Magnolia Manor Ghost Tours in October, a guest recorded a voice whispering the name "Annie", and an incredible photo of an energy vortex was also taken in this room the next night.

The Cottage (On the Grounds) This quaint little brick house was originally the detached kitchen and slave quarters at Magnolia Manor. A spiritual medium who visited the house sensed the presence of three African-American spirits from Civil War times, a woman, a teenage girl and a young female child. In April, 2006, a doctor who spent a month in the Cottage reported two separate apparition sightings of an African-American woman in a long dress and apron who also wore a kerchief on her head, typical attire of kitchen servants from the antebellum era. The Cottage is on the grounds of Magnolia Manor and is perfect for guests who want a little extra privacy.

Purpose Every week, we receive numerous requests from our website visitors asking to accompany our team on an investigation. Due to confidentiality issues, it is not possible to take guests on investigations of private homes or businesses. Outdoor sites such as cemeteries and battlefields also present difficulties such as weather extremes, environmental contamination (dust, insects, pollen, etc.) and daylight only operating hours. Our solution was to arrange monthly Overnight Ghost Hunts & Vigils™ Paranormal Investigator Training Workshops at safe, comfortable venues where paranormal phenomena has been observed and documented so that interested website visitors can receive investigation training and also have the opportunity to experience phenomena firsthand. Any proceeds left over after room rental expenses are used by our team to help offset our regular operating expenses such as website hosting, new equipment purchases, etc. By attending our Overnight Ghost Hunts & Vigils™ Paranormal Investigator Training Workshops, you help fund our research while also learning our craft and enjoying a night's stay in a historic and very paranormally active Southern house.
